A range of scholarships are available for rural and remote health workers from various organisations, and many were identified during an audit of scholarships carried out in November 2008. Please click here to find out more.
In addition to the above, IRCST has established the NSW Rural and Remote Scholarship Program to provide financial assistance to rural and remote health service staff to attend State, National or International Conferences / workshops / seminars and to assist in writing up research. The following categories of sponsorship are available:
- attendance at State, National or International conference
- attendance at workshop/seminar relevant to the applicant's role
- assistance to write up research

A Post Graduate Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Program has been established by Greater Western Area Health Service to provide financial assistance to Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol staff currently undertaking or wishing to undertake post graduate mental health or drug and alcohol studies. Twelve scholarships are available with the call for second round of applications to be distributed in early November 2009.
